View from above Wineglass Bay |
After a relaxing day at the beach, we spent the night in a small town on the East coast called Bicheno, where the next morning, (our final day on the tour) I went for a walk down to the beach to witness my first blowhole which was very neat! We headed over to
Freycinet National Park for a hike up the mountain to get a lovely view of Wineglass Bay, then decided to hike all the way down to get up close and personal with more white sand and clear blue water. While very beautiful, I didn't like Wineglass Bay as much as I enjoyed Bay of Fires. Perhaps it was the shoddy weather, more people frequenting the beach, or perhaps it was just knowing that I had a steep hike back up the mountain ahead of me. Either way, it was still a very lovely location. That evening, the tour of East and West coast Tasmania came to a close, ending right back where we started in Hobart. Did I have fun on the tour? Well... Yes and no. While I got to see a lot of Tasmania and the incredible beauty it holds, I was suffering from very sore and injured feet, which made all the hiking quite difficult.
